Hi and question

Hi,
I just got a 2007 MC, pure silver + sport package + auto last week.
I didn't order it I had to trade in and drive away that day.
I LOVE IT.

I have a question already.

I put the XM radio I had in my other car in the little
cubby in front of the gear selector.

I'd like to have this go on and off when I put the key in.
It seems all the fuses I hooked it too (right side of car)
have power all the time.

I also have a blinking light that looks like an alarm. One of the
leads has to go to a power source that goes off when you take
the key out.

I'm also thinking I need a radar detector on this one.
I'm not driving like a maniac mind you but this thing
really has some get up and go compared to what I'm used to.
I'd like to be aware of the police. I'd also like this to go
on when I put the key in.

Thanks.

Check under the 2nd Generation Electrical Modifications Forum and the Nav/Audio Forum. Search those sections and you will find several posts regarding wiring in XM and radar dectors.

This first link is for "Hot or Not" which gives you power information on the various fuses.

That is really helpful. I'm going to try terminal 30.
That is realy weird how the key is out but everything
is still on.

I looked at the XM install. If I can get a digital camera
I will take photos of mine. My unit is much smaller,
the sportster I think. There is just enough room
in the cubby. I'm not sure if the sound is as good as
if you wire it in through the back and such.

I ran the wire for the antena under the dash and then up
to the center of the windsheild (just glued it on with silcon).

It came out really well and I wish I had pics I will try to
get something.

It took me all day to figure out a way to do it non-intrusively.
If I were doing it a second time it would take an hour, knowing
how.

I wish valentine would make a stealth kit.
Like a box to make it look like a GPS or something.
Cops really don't like it when you have the detector.
