Have you gotten a price from someone to paint and install this kit for you? Also, is there going to be any shipping cost on this kit, since it comes in two or three big boxes?

I know that you can get a discount on it by ordering online, but on a big item like this it might be easier to order through your dealer and have them get it port installed. I think the retail on the JCW kit for the hardtop is about $2500, painted and installed, but the dealer has some profit in that number when they get it done at the port so you might be able to get it bit cheaper and it might be easier than having to find someone to paint and install.

Then again, if you have someone that can do it on the cheap side, I might be wrong!

 

I haven't looked into yet, but I feel certain that I can get it painted and installed for less than $1k. I know I can install the side skirts at least, and I can assemble the kit myself, which should save a good bit of time. Past that I'm not sure.

I'll update everybody on the shipping costs as I'm sure they'll be pretty high. I'm waiting to be approved for the My MINI Visa so I can start earning points with all these purchases.
