16x7.5 sounds tempting. what kind of offset would it need? I don't even know what stock wheel offset is. I would be terrorizing the competitors with a set of 225 width hoosers.. wooooo..

I have a 07 mcs with factory 17s the back spacing is 5 3/4 if that helps. I have auto x it in stock trim in Porsche club event. Many of the Porsche cars present where bsp by the scca, there fastest time was in the mid 63. With my best time being 67.663. In all fairness though the fastest time was set by a go fast vette that had a freaky 59. So in all I would say the new mcs is pretty good in stock trim.

The scca says a lot about tires, it boils down to this. You can run any tire that has a 1/32 of tread. So if you go to Hoosier’s web page you will find slicks that have 2 groves of thread that run around the tire they are legal to run on a stock car. I suggest that if you find a guy that races in your area he will have a lot of scuffed tires which means that they where raced on. That is a good thing for you because he might be willing to sell them for a song. Look for a guy that runs stock miada class because they run 16s

I had the same experience and have LSD and ran on Hankook Ventus Sport K104s. I too was caught offguard by exiting the corner, putting the power down, and getting double wheel spin. Car was accellerating but clearly not as quickly as if I had managed to roll the throttle on. Too many years of underpowered cars taught me to mash it. Interesting that I've never experienced breaking both tires loose like this on the street when accellerating in a straight line.

super sticky tires and more gentle acceleration seem to be the answer.

As this thread shows the data https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=114843
That really is a lot of torque to be putting down, especially to the front wheels. Just cant give it full throttle until you're all straightened out and moving. Hardly something to complain about, just takes some getting used to.

actually just the gentle acceleration. I run Avon Tech-R r-compound tires and can smoke both front tires in second coming out of a corner.
