Recently I was reading comments form mazdaspeed3 owners saying that they get around 7.5mpg on the track so I was curios to see if anyone measured the MPG that they're getting when they really tare it up at the track?
Well, I imagine it would be not too different from what you would get on a short acceleration run. If I have the computer set to show the current rate of consumption, it shows between 7.0-12 mpg most of the time. I would imagine you'd get somewhere in there at the track.
even if i got the same mpg as a MSP3 i would save a alot on tires and brakes since the mini is a feather weight compared to the MSP3
I wondered about that actually, would BMWs maintenance plan include replacing the brakes every time you wear them out even if you're going to the track every single day?
Edit: No I'm not planning on going to the track every single day. I wish I could though.

Normally I get to the track with my MCSa at around 30 mpg. It goes down hugely as the runs increase, and typically ends the 2-day HPDE at between 12 and 14 mpg.
No offense, but this is a silly question. If you're concerned or worried about gas mileage while driving on the track, you shouldn't be driving on the track.

Sorry, someone had to say it!
Like complaining about how much your wife spends on pornographic underwear----WHO CARES??????????????????
I suppose it's of some concern to the thread's author. Actually, I'm pretty pleased that I haven't dipped into single digits at the track, what with premium pricing these days.
The last track day I ran, my MINI R53 gave me 8 miles per gallon. Not very good, but everytime I think back to that day I smile. I guess that's worth 8 mpg.

My E46 M3 gets about 6.5 mpg on the track, and yes, the maintenance plan would replace the pads everytime the light goes on. However, if you are going to the track enough to wear through pads that quickly then you are probably going to want to upgrade to a higher performance track pad.
I did about 3 events with my stock brakes. Too much fade. Since then (about 3 years ago) I replaced the rotors and now I change out the pads the night before the events. I run Cobalt Spec-Vr pads and they are fantastic.
