I lurk on this forum, the Rennlist Forum for my Porsche 993 and the E60 Forum for my BMW 530I. As RASTVEN stated, these Internet forums amplify problems. Folks always post problems and concerns. Problem free driving is rarely posted.

Don’t be concerned with problem postings. These are cars and there will be problems. Just not to the degree that these forums would lead you to believe.

Love it!

I can't remember when I picked up my car! Time flys when you're having FUN! Guess it was late April/early May?
I had a tiny cosmetic interior issue that had nothing to do with the car's build, but it's handling AFTER completion, possibly even after delivery to the dealer. Car is terrific!

Picked it up in March .. 7,800 miles .. No problems

I've been on this '07 Mini Cooper forum since last year and have seen very few problems pop up, at least on cars delivered here in the U.S. Why such a negatively worded post? Where are all these problems you mention? Are you talking about that very few that keep popping up over and over again for some interesting reason or other? This kind of situation brings to memory past years in school or work where suddenly all kinds of things are coming up stolen making it seem like the place has turned into a den of thieves. But then, in the end, it turns out to be one individual who's been the culprit all along.

Have had 2 different r56's this year--long story, but both have been problem free except for an AC leak on the first one that was a bad AC valve. 9K total in miles. Only going up.

Only one minor problem, weeping wiper jets up front, nothing a bottle of QD can't fix. I ordered mine with a lot of options, so far everything works great.

What an absolute joy this car has been so far! T-Bone Scooter - built in July- has so far provided me with 3,600 fun-filled problem-free miles. There are a few quirky and/or semi-annoying things that I wish were different, but that's for a another discussion.

I mean after it's built it goes thru another check when it gets to us shores right? And they still can't see anything wrong? How many of you owners with 07's have not had 1 thing go wrong with your car?
It's the first year for this new redesigned MINI so it will take some time maybe months maybe 2 years to get most of the problems ironed out.

Same thing happens with other cars and same with the 2002 MINI when introduced in the US.

My 2003 MCS was not trouble free but most things got fixed. The option is to wait. 2005 and 2006 were much better. I didn't want to wait.

I got the 1991 Dodge Caravan first year it was redesigned, lots of problems.
I got the 2001 Honda Odyssey EX first year it was redesigned, lots of problems.
I got the 2007 Honda Fit Sport first year it was introduced, some problems- not too horrible but it's close to the new MINI.

Overall I think the 2007 MINI R56 is coming along and not overly problematic. Could be more trouble free. It's an English car you know!

Got mine the end of April. I have rattles all over. Other than rattles, it's great. But I hate rattles. Can't wait to be back in it.

Got mine in March. drove from FW to the Dragon and back and 300+ miles back and forth to work every week. Throw in some weekend play and 8700 miles, just like that.

February build, picked up mid-April, almost 7500 miles and nothing to report. Well, only that I'm head-over-heels for this car.

Received the car in mid-April and now have 5700 trouble free miles. (although there is a minor buzzing rattle from the dash just left of center that comes and goes) All-in-all, no complaints and have enjoyed every minute behind the wheel.

I drove my first MINI, a 2002 Cooper almost 14K miles in 8 months and then traded her in on my 2003 MCS on April 4, 2003. Drove her 10,000+ miles the first 6 weeks I owned her. Love my MINI! Best car I've ever owned. She has 72K on the odometer now.

Both England and Germany have good beer; I think the BMW/Mini engineers over indulge.

Japanese and Korean beer sucks; their cars are more reliable.
Watch out for Mexico; their beer really sucks.

It takes a keen eye like mine to spot these relationships.

Then how do you account for the very heavy use of Saki in Japan?

Lots of problems with mine:

- Abnormal tire wear (combined with loud screeching noises) on front tires
- Driver apparently stuck in car; wife cannot get him out
- Gas mileage "only" 31 mpg because of lead-footing

Seriously, though, no problems, 3500 miles, six months owned.
