About to place an order for an MCS w/ 17" Crown Spoke wheels. I want the summer performance RFTs. The online configurator states the tire as "performance". Is that a conventional summer performance tire or a run flat summer performance tire? Can I choose what type of tire comes on an ordered vehicle? What brand and model of summer performance RFT is OEM?

 

run flat--can not choose brands--probably come OEM w/ the Dunlops sport 01s OEM.

 

I got really confused with this as well when I was placing the order for my MCSa with sport package. As when you choose the 17" Web Spoke wheels, the online configurator actually has in parenthesis 'run flat performance' but with the Crown Spokes it doesn't specify at all. It actually wasn't until I went into the dealer to place my order and the manager tried to get me to purchase the wheel and tire coverage that I found out the Crown Spokes are run flat as well. If I remember correctly every MINI with wheels 16" and up are equipped with run flats whether you want them or not. The only tire options with the Crown Spokes are whether you want performance or all-season tires, but as far as run flats they're standard regardless.
