WAI When Leaving Your Mini For Service !!
I have mentioned what I do when taking my vehicles in for service in several PM's and posts, and had owners state they never thought of it.
Decided to make a post of it, and I'm in no way trying to judge or inslut any one, so please take it as meant, just a useful suggestion for added Mini protection from techs.
Prior to handing your Mini's key over to any of the service people, talk witht he service manager and ask that he or one service people do a "walk around inspection". Much the same as most car rental agencys do. This helps protect the Mini service department, but more importantly you.
On the work order they can note no damage, or remark on any that is present. This way when you have your Mini returned, if there is any damage at all, there is no question to whom is responsible.
I learned this years ago the hard way, my car was returned with a small area that had been pushed out, dealer said no way they did it and I could not prove it was not there when I turned the keys over to them. That cost me $900, an expensive lesson. To my surprise when I took Skeeter in last week to East Bay Mini, I did not need to ask, seems it is a standard practice for that service department. Skeeter and I was happy with this policy.

This is great advice! Let me add to it though. Ask to do this whenever you turn your auto over to any type of repair shop. I once took my current vehicle (no Mini yet) to a tire change place to get a leak fixed. When I got the car back, I had wheel damage that could have only been caused by tire changing hardware. The wheel had a gouge in a concentric circle pattern on it's face. Needless to say I wasn't happy with being called a liar and even a call to the Better Business Bureau didn't help.
I will most certainly begin a practice of this after purchasing my Mini!
