BMW (the parent company of MINI) is known to use break pads that produce EXCESSIVE ammounts of brake dust. Heck D&R MINI in Indy offered a free wash each Saturday and by Wednesday the wheels needed washing again. Grey or silver wheels hide the dust from the stock pads. WHITE rims will stain if you leave it on there too long.

When I had my Blue/white/white rim Mini, I used to go to the car wash where you do it yourself and just use the big soapy brush and brush the white wheels once a week. It took like 10 seconds per wheel to get it all off and another minute to wipe them down after. That was the easiest way. Before that, I had my kids wipe em down once a week. The S-Lites are very easy to wipe down and the team dynamic rims were tuff to clean because they had lots of little areas difficult to get at.

Kids are good at getting at all those little difficult areas with their little hands!

My suggestion for white wheels: put some cleaner wax on them- helps 'em stay whiter longer I wouldn't trade my whites for anything!
