R56 All aboard the Faust.
Hmmm, she's back on AIS in the Halifax approaches ala 2 hours ago. She had disappeared off AIS last time I checked and I thought she had sailed again. Oh well, hopefully she will be underway soon bound for NY.
found the Port of Halifax site:

up until a few minutes ago... if you went to Port of Halifax site there's a map of the port that lines up with the AIS map. Faust location on both WAS the Autoport. now it's not on AIS?
At 3pm east coast time I'm starting a 40 hour clock countdown to ETA at the VDC... I can't wait!

Here's hoping she is underway for NY then.
Friends have told me you can train the Empire State building webcams on the port so you can watch the Faust unload. I'll post the link tomorrow for those that wish to waste the day :-)

Alright! The Halifax stop is now in RED on ww's website and the ship is turning around and heading back to sea on AIS. Looks like I will be tracking it all the way to NY from here on out. Here's to a fast voyage!!
Lost Faust this morning on AISLive and still haven't picked her up. I'm assuming she should come back into "view" later today, early tonight when she hits the south side of Long Island.
Yeah I have been trying to find her too. I have been use sailwx to track the carnival victory because it was pretty close to the faust. as of 6am CV was along the gulf of maine. Im hoping the faust gets back on the map soon, its making me nervous
I don't know how I'm going to deal with the post-VDC void of info. I haven't bothered my MA since I got my production number.

I assume all know, but will mention for those that may not. Once docked if you check the WW sight for the auto cargo, it will show what time your Mini's were off loaded. Somtimes it is as boarding, you can see each listed Mini updated as it departs. Other times you won't see any activity till Fasut leaves the dock, then the WW sight updates and shows all the Mini's off loaded, using the same time stamp for all. Good luck on all having a safe landing and dry tires once again.
had to come back into the office to...wait for it... call AAA for the current vehicle is not starting. I think it knows what's up.
The fact that the Faust is a mere 200 NM out of port is taking the sting out of the current car's issues.
Just one or two more weeks...? depending on VDC, the transport and the dealer. woo hoo!

My MA called today to tell me my car was "on the way to the dock" and that it'll be "Two weeks or so". That dosn't seem right to me; they must overestimate. How long does it take from the processing facility? (I happen to know its about a 2 hour drive to my mini dealership from there.)
best case scenario
8/30-9/4 at VDC (if MINI wasn't damaged enroute)
9/5 on the truck (if not too many stops between NJ/NY and CT)
9/5, 6, 7 at the dealer (if they aren't backed up with other stuff)
9/8 available to pick up?
MY MA said 6-8 weeks from order date, which would mean 9/8 - 9/22...
in other news, the Faust has finally made it into NY Overview on AIS!

rant:: the current car remains at work parking lot unresponsive. Oh, I get bells and lights but not more than that. This has been an ongoing issue with it for a few months now, but usually it recovers within an hour or two. It's been 24 hours.
So, I refuse to put one more penny into is and reluctantly rent a car for the next few days until I figure out what to do next.
It's probably the starter, but, again, I don't want to pay any more into it when my MINI is a mere week (or two) and a scant 100 miles away.
It's been a L O N G journey since ordering, so what's a few more hours/days/week... a lot considering the current car is pretty much dead and there's no real mass transit here, unless you think having to walk 1/2 an hour to a bus stop and then take two buses for a combined 1.5 hour commute (when it normallytakes 12 minutes) a convenient transit system.
end of that rant.
ps, I looked at the NEAT website and saw some map that shows where the "old port" (Newark) is and how convenient NEAT is for cargo to not have to make its way around to Port Elizabeth/Newark. Sell that convenience factor...
FWIW, I was born in JC, so I was really happy to see the new baby come from there, too.

XOXOXO sorry about your car! Mine is still working but I can not seem to sell it. I can't even get anyone to look at it! It's a Honda Civic so I thought it would go quickly but I should have known. Hopefully yours will start back up and last until you get your mini!
