Picked up my DS/B MCSa today, and I'm thrilled with it! First pictures below!







Jerry, my MA at Morristown MINI, was extremely helpful to me throughout this whole process and I'd like to thank him on here.

Just before I left, I got talking to another potential customer at Morristown MINI about my motor, and he wasn't too sure about what colour configuration to get for his own potential MCS. After going home, picking up a friend and returning a couple of hours later with said friend to drive home the car I originally arrived in, I bumped into the gentlemen again, and he said he picked the exact same combo above after seeing my motor, including the checkered mirrors and bonnet stripes. So much for trying to be unique Happy to help a fellow MINI driver make choices, though!

Oh, on the drive home (14 miles), 3 times coming to a stop at lights I noticed blue-ish smoke coming out the exhaust.....back at the dealership, Jerry told me that was to be expected in the first few miles.....I didn't notice it again on my 2nd drive home. Anyone else have the same experience?

 

The mirrors bring out the colors in the rest of the car. Nice Choice!

the only thing i regret not ordering is the rear fog lights, didn't think about it till it was way too late. oh well i can live without them though.

Thanks for all the good words! It's really impossible to create a BAD looking MINI, though! This thing is such fun to drive! The wait was well worth it (and I'm spoiled too, as I ordered it July 17th and received it Aug 16th).

Heh! I was actually worried that the checkered mirrors would look 'odd' on the DS, but I'm *really* happy with how they look, but that held me back on the checkered roof initially. Now, though, I might just look into a graphic on the sunroof.

I was originally going to go with Chilli Red, in which case those mirrors would have had the Union Jack on them (I'm an Englishman in New York), but I think the colour would have clashed with dark silver.

I added the rear fogs purely for looks and tailgater removal

Note to others - I ordered the checkered rear view mirror too, but it seems the part doesn't fit on it if you choose the convenience package, due to the garage door opener buttons. My MA told me this on pick-up today, after they tried to fit it and failed!

 

You made a good call on those mirror caps... they look GREAT with DS. And the white pinstripes on the bonnet really brings the whole package together.

If you decide to checker the roof, I think your MINI would rrrrrrreally be an eye-grabber.

Of course, I am not an unbiased observer.

Great looking Mini. I am waiting for delivery of a DS/B MCSa. Seeing yours really makes the waiting difficult. I did not go with the checkered mirror caps but chrome instead. What interior did you choose? I went with the redwood red leather. How about posting some interior pictures as well.

That blueish smoke is due to the piston rings not sealed properly, brake it a bit it will go away.
