Swapping Pedals

I'm planning to get different pedals for my MCS to make heel-toeing a little easier, basically I can't get secure footing on the brake while blipping the throttle since the pedals are a little too far apart. My question is, has anyone take the pedals off? How is the rubber on the pedals attached is it just adhesive? I also assume that the screws are below the rubber, right? Is there anything else I should know when taking the pedals apart?

you need to learn to heal and toe better cause it is very easy on the mini.

My engine can't be blipped. Needs some aftermarket software.

Bhatch,
You must have some real fat feet or maybe it's that heal you're using. I don't have that particular body part.

I've been heel/toeing for decades and find the MINI to be the most difficult of any of my cars. Much more difficult than even my full size pick-up.

mufflethis,
The Ultimate Pedals come highly recommended by a bunch of MINI drivers: http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-coop..._manual.h tml. You can find a discussion on another recent thread.
I'll give them a try after I get the engine to "blip" with an LDG tune.

Check these out: http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-coop..._manual.h tml

I think he's saying his feet are too small since he think the pedals are too far apart.

what do u mean by secure footing? only your toes should be on the brakes, unless you have like size 6 feet heel and toe should be no problem. Maybe you should get some driving shoes as they give you a better feel of everything.

Classic racing technique is with the shoe flat covering both pedals and the foot is rolled side to side. On big sedans, where the pedals are further apart, the arch or heel is on the brake and the toe on the throttle. If you do it the other way around your heel is on the throttle pivot and not doing anything.

Jeepers ,,, any smaller pedals on the Mini would be dangerous.

Those pedals are listed only for the MC/MCS up to '06 and not the R56. Have you heard somewhere that they fit the '07 as well?

Ideally, the pedals should be right next to each other with the brake pedal about an inch closer to the driver than the throttle. Doesn't matter how big they are as long as there is plenty of grip and they're close together. When I've fabricated pedals for my race cars, I used metal pads and bonded grip strip material (coarse grit) to the surfaces.

Give them a call. If they don't fit, I'm certain they'll be making some soon that do fit.
