I saw it before the site went down. It just said that the R52 is going to be around another year and that there is a small price increase for the R56, that's about it

The motoringfile.com sight can not be pinged and no traceroute at the present, the sight is having issues or down for maintainence perhaps.

So basically 2008 R56 will be identical to 2007 R56? Or is it too early to determine that?

Yes, I'm also unable to resolve DNS information. Er... I cannot access it either.

IIRC, they recently switched hosts. I had no problem during the switch-over, but maybe there is already trouble in 'paradise'? Overloaded a server? Hmmmm... I'm sure we'll hear soon enough.

Here's what currently shows from the RSS feed in Google Reader:

We’ve had a lot of emails recently from readers wanting more information about what to expect in the way of changes to the US spec 2008 MINI Coupe. As we’ve reported earlier, the US market will not being seeing any of the fuel saving technologies (such as start/stop and regenerative braking) for the 2008 model year. The only new option that appears to be headed to the US is the optional USB interface that would appear to offer factory iPod connectivity for hopefully less than the cost of the current dealer installed adapter.
This morning, it had something about a new white being available only for the convertables, but that seems to be gone now... I was really hoping to hear that there would be a non-metalic black announcement, so I was paying careful attention to the colors

It's back to working. Earlier, I was able to access the 2008 model change story, but could not access the comments.

Sorry guys. Our host had a huge power outage and we were down for a couple of hours. Due to this our database was corrupted and our comments went a bit screwy for a bit after the site went back live.

But... it's all fixed and better than ever. Thanks for being patient!!!

That's a switch. Usually it's the comments that are OK and the people who are a little screwy.

Hope you haven't gotten flooded out the past few days.

The new features listed are a USB interface for the radio (iPods), and driver-side auto-up window control.

The convertible will get "White Silver" as a paint option.
