Unexpected Roadtrip

I never intended to drive my MINI in any capacity other than as a commuter and under 100 mile road trip car. Unfortunately, a death in the family made it necesssary to drive T-Bone up to NJ. I was absolutely amazed at how comfortable the roughly 300 mile (each way) trip was. No aches, no cramps, no legs 'falling asleep' and other than a biological calling, no need to stop; it was the same on the return trip (+ break-in is now only 30 miles away). I was very pleasantly surprised.

The roads in Jersey suck! At least in the East Brunswick, New Brunswick, Jamesburg areas. The turnpike is no bargain either; give me my Virginia roads anytime! I feel like the car's suspension took on six months worth of Virginia wear and tear in three Jersey days. In spite of these roads, T-Bone performed flawlessly. No chronic rattles developed, it's all good.....so far.

Anyway, through the sadness of this trip, T-Bone's showmanship was a ray of sunshine.

That's good to hear. Had mine a month now and planning some lengthy trips - I just love being in it. I'm 6 feet tall - some people think it's weird I got a little car - the leg and head room are ample and when you're in the front seat it doesn't feel like a small car - except of course for the go cart feel of driving it.

Hi Pam

I'm only 5' 9" but I have several tall friends who feel totally comfortable in the MINI. One is not only 6', but he's over 275 lbs. He too felt comfortable in the car. So enjoy your road trips and let us know how it felt when you return.
