Empty Tank Alarm

Well I have had the new MINI for two weeks now - and I had the pleasure of running REALLY low on gas (6 miles till empty). So the gas alarm goes off - and keep going off! I have never gotten so angry and frustrated at a car. I am sure there is a way to turn this off so I get a single warning bell - but I have not found it. Has anybody else come accross this?

Yeah, I pretty much chill. I give always give myself lots of time to adjust to the new MINI, and it seems to work. They really don't want you running out of gas, do they???

There is a silver cap on the driver's side. Just open it and put a couple of gallons of gas in there and close it up. The system will reset on next start.
Running out of gas on a direct injection engine is not a good idea.

If you hit the button on the end of the turn signal stalk, that will shut it up until you're able to follow 4xAAA's more permanent solution.
