Mine came in at a touch over $29,000. I tried to keep it low but the SAT/NAV was the killer. My budget was $30,000 and after tax and license I went over budget. This was 30% more than I've ever spent on a car before, so to me it was a lot.
Romi came in just under $23K. What is not in my desription for her is the carpet floor mats, the boot box, the cargo net, the "Let's Motor" license frame, the extended warranty, and the wheel/tire warranty. Would not change a thing.
Mine was 29,600 plus tax on 22k of that (my trade lowered the taxable amount). I was happy with that. First car I ever paid sticker for though, but what the hey. Beats $2000 off a Dodge Neon yukyukyuk!
FYI: The factory alarm is now available. I bet it just plugs in cause they were all wired for it I believe.
What's with all the lounge leather talk?? Pictures!!!! I thought the leatherete had a better feel, and lasted longer than the real leather, no?

I refuse to post the actual delivery cost of my MINI, nor the total cost including stuff I've done to it since... for fear of appearing to have lowered intelligence.
I will, however... admit that my factory sticker price, before any dealer add-ons, was already over $30K.
HINT: In the online MINI configurator, Steps 1 through 4 are factory options. Step 5 are dealer-installed/sold accessories. It's important to recognize the difference when ordering any MINI. I'd even go so far as to suggest you completely ignore Step 5 until after you've taken delivery of your MINI. You can always add that stuff later.

I am playing with Cooper S specs in the configurator right now and the only way I can keep the price under $30,000 is to skip leather, the sunroof and the all the stuff in the convienence package I don't need (comfort access, auto headlights and garage door opener).
The bits I do need from the convienence package are bluetooth and the auto dimming rear view mirror. Well I don't really need the bluetooth but I am really tired of messing around with a BT headset.
The big ticket item I do have to have though is the Nav system which also means adding the MFSW (good for BT) and auto climate control. I also need an auto transmission (wife doesn't drive stick and I have to valet park all the time), heated seats (wife again) and PDC.

After market I'm going for a set of H&R Sport Springs and a set of carbon fiber door handles. And yes I'm insane.
Good to hear there's another red here by the way, are you from my side of the world also?
I was trying to keep it under $30k, but I had to have the Nav and Auto, and I ended up getting most of my "nice to haves" like the Audio package and the white indicators. I stopped short of getting the JCW stuff because I figured I could do those kinds of upgrades later. All of the checkboxes I checked bumped me up to $34k. Well worth it in my opinion - I was grinning from ear to ear throughout my first test drive (and for a while after). Can't wait!
In my view (which is admittedly old-school) a MINI over $30K is something of an oxymoron for most folks............UNLESS one has a specific purpose in mind that would drive the cost of the car higher. The JCW packages come to mind.
Or never getting lost.
