I have a female MA who I've already "hurt her feelings" by inquiring with her sales manager when I couldn't get ahold of her. She had the nerve to tell me not to call him and that "I just needed to be patient." Well I quickly set her straight on that and she promptly apologized. I pointed out that I bought not one, but two cars from her, and that I am a grown man, not a child, and did not appreciate being told what I "need" to do. I will call whoever and whenever I want in order to get the information I need! I'm getting spun up all over again just recalling that exchange. Anyway, she's providing me daily updates now, but unfortunately nothing's changed. It's really frustrating. I have a buyer for my would be trade-in waiting in limbo, and I'm pushing the limit on my 60 day pre-approved loan. :impatient
Wow! Can't believe she treated you/spoke to you that way. Good for you for not letting her get away with it.

I have good news but it could be frustrating for you. Jack arrived at the dealership yesterday! Delivery is scheduled for 2:30 TOMORROW! Woot!

Please tell us that you have good news on your baby!

Guess what...

No, I do not have good news. My suspicions were correct. It was damaged! Supposedly it was scratched, so it did not get on a truck as scheduled. It was held at the VPC for repair. That's all the information I was given. No new ETA or anything! I'm going to request some type of compensation for 1. the delay and 2. the fact that they are now selling me a damaged/repaired vehicle. Do you think I'm being unreasonable?

What a bummer! I, surprisingly, have experience with this one. My MINI was ready for delivery (at dealership) last August. My MA was out and the Sales Manager called me the night before. She knew I was planning on taking Jake to MTTS (MINI Takes The States) the following day and knew how important taking delivery was...BUT...the boot hatch got dented and scratched on the lot!

When they pulled Jake in to the showroom to prep for delivery, she noticed it.

Long story, short - They pulled the dent (I couldn't even tell where it was/how big it was) and told me they would repaint the entire hatch on my return and pay for a rental car.

As a "make good", she offered me a MINI sun shade (worth about $50-60). Well, my situation was much different than yours. I NEEDED my MINI for a super cool event. So, I was glad that she was "making it happen".

In your case, I don't know. I don't think that you'll get anywhere with the "delay". It just happens when the car has to make a journey across land and sea.

On the "damaged car" thing, I'm guessing it depends on "how bad" it is...and that is somewhat up to you. I'm pretty sure you have the option to pass on taking this MINI and reorder. Hoo-boy :impatient but waiting AGAIN would be rough. It really depends on how YOU feel about the situation. I'm guessing you could get some kind of "discount" but...there are people WAITING for MINIs. My guess is that they could sell it to someone else without a big problem.

Soooo...it's a tough one. I would make sure YOU feel good about and are OK with the circumstances.

I was OK with it all. It was a good option for me and NOT getting my MINI for MTTS would have been a bigger disappointment than having the boot hatch painted. The scratch was small (about a 1/4" or so) and they painted the ENTIRE hatch (no patch job! ).

OK...I am rambling.

On a lighter note, we took delivery of Jack today! Took a LONG time...about 2.5 hours before we could motor!

Will post some pics tomorrow maybe?

Hope you get a resolution you're happy with. Sorry the wait has been so long and disappointing. When you finally drive your MINI, I'm sure you'll be smiling big and forget about some of it at least!

PS Sorry for the double post up there ^^^ Not sure what happened.

The VPC will return the car to factory specs, this is done to a wide variety of damages. They are not selling you a damaged car, it will be fixed. With that said, i still say swing for the fences on compensation, ask for stuff that does not cost them money and they can write off as customer service expense. like mud flaps, window tint, interior items, added warrenty like the wheel and tire for 3 yrs. I would also look over the page 5 of the mini configurator and see if there is anything you want from there, like clear bra or the backpack bags or something.

Good luck and your baby will be here soon and in pefect order.

If you do not like it for any reason, remember to reject deliveray and order a new, I know it sucks but if its going to bother you its worth it to reorder.

Thanks T-Horn,

I just got an email from my MA informing me that my Mini is here. I might be able to pick it up Monday evening!
