Can you get these stickers off?

There's one upper left on the inside of the windshield, a sticker won't peel off easily, with warnings on it. How do you get that off there? And there is one on each visor, black/yellow with warnings on them. They seem printed on, not stickers. Obnoxious looking to me. Anyone get those off there with anything like alcohol?

I remember seeing some labels for covering the ones on the visors....can't locate it right now. D'oh.

The windshield sticker will come off with a razor blade, and the remaining adhesive will come off with acetone, alcohol, or Goo-Gone.

The visor decals are more like a thin plastic film that's been heat-bonded to the visor. You can't peel it off directly, but you can remove the visors from the car, and lay some alcohol-soaked paper towels on top of the decals for a few minutes, then they should lift off.

I just covered mine with decals that Aesthetic Creations makes for just this purpose (www.aestheticreations.net)

I removed the stupid yellow warning labels on the sun visors by using a cotton rag & acetone. There was some white residue left on the visor, so after it dried, i used Back to Black to dye the visor. (My MCS has antracite visors.) So much nicer now that the ugly yellow labels are gone.

I took the sticker off the windshield and there's still all this gunk left up there. Gotta get me some goop remover...

I just noticed this sticker today after more than a week of ownership. Project for tomorrow night! Sticker removal.

I got the glue off the windshield with citrasolv. Came right off, but you have to be careful with that stuff. Spill it on your dash and it will ruin the plastic. Just dampen a paper towel with the stuff and rub.

I got the window sticker residue off using a piece of duct tape. Press the duct tape against the residue, then pull off slowly. I had to repeat a few times to get it all off.

What and where is this windshield warning label? I think I didn't get one. I feel horribly at risk. What should I be warned about? Let me guess. It says, "Warning, do not hurl your face into this windshield at more than 2 mph. Serious injury could result."

I did get the warnings on the visors. Amazingly enough, it took me a week to notice them.

I don't.... I don't remember what they said! OMG - I'm at risk too!? I'll have to order one from the parts department and put it back on the windshield. And then I'll need some help getting it off please.

Its a vicious cycle.

The airbag warning stickers on the visors came off with a LOT of soaking with alcohol and pulling it off in tiny little flakes. Took a lot longer than I had expected.

TheBigNewt,

I have an extra set of the MINI stickers that aestheticreatrions sells to cover up the visor warnings. Send me a PM with your address and I will mail them to you.

dean.

Pard,

Even if you had gotten it off, the surface of the visor would show something had been there. A.E. stickers are the best solution.

Robin, your visor stickers look better than mine. I ordered the same ones, but they weren't textured at all, just smooth cheap-looking shiny stickers like you'd get out of a 25-cent machine. So I never even put them on.

They are thin enough that they pick up the texture from the visor surface.

The warning label on the windshield was a label warning you not to alter the electrical system.

Rubbing alcohol worked just fine in getting my goop off. I just left the visor warning labels. May try the aftermarket covers.

I covered my airbag stickers with A.E. ones. Like it MUCH better! Pics in my gallery.

(BTW A.E. had them out to me in less than 2 weeks, even though their website warns it might take 6-8 weeks! LOVE a company that underpromises and over delivers! )

For those of us who wish to keep our MINI's as original as possible, (CONCOURS) I strongly advise keeping all the goofy stickers the car came with. Those will be valuable points one day.

I know, to the AutoCross and road course types, this is pointless, but to those reading this thread who maybe unsure of what direction there going with there car, it's just a bit of advice in the other direction.

Hope it helps.

I like how they don't seem to be too sticky, and will peel off.
Which ones did you get?

The A.E. stickers can be removed. So, if in 25 years you wish to enter the Concours d' Elegance in Pebble Beach, it wont be the stickers holding you back.

Robin, I didn't realize they would take on the slight texture from the visor. So when you put yours on, did you somehow remove the warning tags on the visors, or just slap the stickers overtop?

The fact that they're removable if I don't like them is a plus, maybe I'll give 'em a shot now.

I've loved everything that I've purchased from them so far! I'll continue buying from them!

I'm not Robin, but I can tell you that I put my stickers right on top of the warning labels and they picked up the texture of the visor.
