How many miles on your Ordered Mini?

I read that some had 2 miles on their new Mini's. Mine had 8. No biggie, but I admit I wonder how many miles were driven by the dealer, and have wondered why they drove it, and if they allowed some hot-rodding for unknown reasons.

How many miles were on your custom ordered Mini when you picked it up from the dealer?

I think it was zero. I took it for a test drive before doing the paperwork. If it had the sputtering or tansmission issues I was going to reject it. I didn't notice the odometer until after the drive and it said 4 miles. It seems like that was how long the drive was.

I have no clue, yet.
Because it is sitting on a dock in Southampton getting pooped on by seagulls!

Sorry, I'll let you know when the Little Zipper arrives.

They don't use a forklift or something to carry the car from the line, to storage yards, on to the ships, off the ships, around at the VDC, on to trucks/trains, off the carrier around the dealer's location. There's also the chance that the cars get delivered to the dealer off-site or at a remote lot. I would also kinda hope that at some point, someone has test-driven it.

4 before the dealer filled it with gas. 7 afterwards. I think my MA went for a little joy ride.

During a pre-delivery inspection, the dealer should be taking the car on a short test drive to make sure that everything is ok.

A new car off the truck should have around 10 miles +/- at delivery.

1 mile when delivered off the truck to the BMW main building in Peabody. 6 more driven to the Mini showroom/facility, and 15 more when I picked it ,for total of 21 miles. Fine by me.

I have had many new cars and some dealers, especially bmw, didn't let me have my car without another quick detailing. I think it is just a waste of my time because the car will get dirty again anyway. they are told to do so by bmwna probably and they are following the orders, I guess.

How is anyone going to know if some mechanic took it for a joy ride???

They only thing you really need to be concerned with is if the dealer is close to a track and they didn't put a few hot laps on it

2 miles on mine. And my MA assured me that nobody is allowed to drive an ordered Mini awaiting delivery except himself or his manager. Nice to know, I guess...

Mine had 5 miles on it. BTW - I didn't think of taking the car for a test drive prior to doing the paperwork...and here I was thinking I had covered all the grounds at delivery. Thankfully, there were no probs. I didn't ask my MA so I have no idea where the 5 miles come from

3 miles. I assume that it has to be driven from the factory in Oxford to the train. Then off the train at Southampton, onto the ship, off the ship, then to the VPC.

11 miles.

Though high, I was willing to shrug it off. Then about a mile down the highway after picking it up I was passed by 3 lot boys/ SA's /MA's who were taking 3 brand new Minis for very spirited "inspection runs". I had just seen these same 3 cars get taken off the truck 15 minutes earlier and I think its safe to say they weren't keeping it under 4000rpms. Put 2 and 2 together and those 11 miles really started to irk me.
