R56 Manufacturing a Mini
Manufacturing a Mini
I found this link while looking around the Mini International site:
http://www.mini.com/COM/en/themini/m...ges/spycam.jsp
If that doesn't work, try:
http://www.mini.com/com/en/manufacturing/index.jsp
and click on the "process camera" (lower right)
Quite interesting to see the assembly line. Would have been cool to see how the engine/tranny, but I'm presuming that is an outsourced assembly.

I've been compulsively showing this video to everyone! Alas, few share my excitement...
Oh, and the final assembly of the engine does happen in-house. It is sent from France partially built and then it gets put together, mated to the German trans and installed in Oxford.
