My Next R56 Mods - Suggestions

I've just had installed a 22 mm rear sway bar and the combination with the OEM sports supension and LSD is nothing short of stunning. It's on rails, even with my dinky 16" S-Winders.

I'm contemplating the following:
  • 17 or 18" wheels
  • short shifter
  • exhaust
  • ecu mod from Vishnu or GIAC when they come out and please bring back the burble!
Since I'm working with a budget I'm wondering if I should do my mods in that order?

Here's hoping that I don't have obtain the following warranty mods (again):
  • Clutch #4
  • Flywheel #3
  • throwout bearing #2
  • pressure plate #4
What do you think? Suggestions?

There is no reason not to get the wheels first, since they are in abundance. There is far less choice when it comes to R56-specific componentry like the shifter, exhaust, and ecu, so I would wait for several products to come to market so you can more freely choose based on your price/quality criteria.

The again, you could always go the custom exhaust route and have a shop weld some 2.5"-3" piping to a magnaflow for you for hundreds less than you would spend on a brand-name product.

Wheels and tires are well established. You would be on the bleeding edge of the other mods.

+1 to ygblat. Exhaust by a decent race/performance shop shouldn't be too expensive, 1/2 to 2/3 of name brand.

Light wheels and tires wouold be an awesome upgrade. Someone did a thread that talked about his dislike of the susp dynamics that became a complete positive with the wheel/tire upgrade.

imho, the 17's are at the sweet spot for performance/comfort if you live with anything other than perfect roads.

btw, your first mod will be mine. Who'd you use?

Let us know how it goes........
