Do you have a seat in Skuzzy's School of Whine?
Keep checking the data on MINIusa.com, there is a great sticky link in 1st Gear.
Lots of planning (or scheming, if you will). Mods, trips, roads to roam and dream of far away places with lots of twisties and empty road in front of you.
Insomnia.
I think this calendar is broke!

Ahhh, a freshman, a rookie, a novice,....

Not to worry, soon you will be part of a much larger picture. We have a 12 step program and the SSoW (Skuzzy School of Whine), where you can learn the fine art of whining. The 12 step program is just designed to help you understand the emotional roller coaster you are about to undertake.

Once you realize all this is designed to help you understand why it is soooo important I get my car, then you will be complete. You see, I DO NOT HAVE MY CAR YET!!!! ARRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!

Obligatory whine recorded for posterity. Or recorded on someone's posterior. One or the other. Oh yes,..you too will be talking to yourself in third person as well. Makey-da-peeps-thinky-u-not-so-right-in-da-head! Did I say that out loud? No, must have been the other guy. Are you sure? Positive. Ok, phew.

Well crup500 we're all a little insane here especially those of us who have been waiting around a month. To kill the time we talk about MINIs, we try to figure out exactly what state they're at by calling 866-ASK - MINI and if the automated service doesn't give us the answers we want we bother the good people that work there. We second guess our decisions on options, share photos and say "damn I should have gotten that on my MINI" a lot.

After the car is built is where the real fun begins we try to figure out which boat we're on, get the schedule, track in on satellite, and even find photos of the boats: http://media.shipspotting.com/uploads/photos/124657.jpg That's the one my MCS is sitting on right now.

I know by now you're thinking, damn these people are really nuts, or maybe you just think that about me, but that's fine 'cause you'll be just like the rest of us in about a month. They didn't tell you about the insanity at the dealership when you signed the paperwork did they?

But it's all worth it in the end when you're cruising in your brand spankin' new MINI.

Well, if that is all you got,, then we have a lot of work to do on those whines. You missed a golden oppertunity at whineage!

You could have said, "I must be enrolled, as I have been waiting forever for my car. My pets are dieing from lack of attention, I have not washed any clothes for a month, I have been living on Cheetos while sitting on the phone and Internet waiting for MY CAR TO GET HERE!!!! ARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!"

See? Take it from the base, then grow it to a magnificent crescendo, sucking in the reader the whole while!

Just like I did to you. See how that works?

Nail biting? Please. Those were gone before I got home from ordering my Mini. Luckily, the Wife taped plastic cones around my fingers so I could not reach them anymore. She tried jalpeno juice, BUT I LIKED IT!!!

I have an issue see. I will be selling my current car and I will sell it before my mini arrives. SO. I now for a fact that there will be a period in which I will be w/o car and my only mode of transportation will be a mountain bike. One which does not have road tires.

Yeah This will be interesting as the dealer said if i order my mini now I wont get it until August or September. I think I might try and find a dealer that can get me my mini by July, but we'll see; I like the local guys. I bet I'm going to lose a lot of weight.

I suggest:

- Getting familiar with NAM and NAMites...those skills and those friendships will serve you well and is time well spent.

-Looking for small mods you can do. I just ordered an R56 shorty antenna. Not a big thing but inexpensive and I can put it on the car right away.

-Research and begin procuring proper detailing supplies. MINI paint is a tad bit sensitive and many new owners approached their MINI like any ol' car....mistake. Get a good car wash kit...you'll save money if you get the right stuff first. Then research various protective finish systems. You may have to order the stuff you (and your MINI) needs and you wouldn't want to be caught off guard.

Did you order LSD? Here that means Limited Slip Differential. It is the major remorse if not ordered. The next items of second-guessing are seat upholstery, and paint color. Since you are AB/AB, you can spend hours in the Detailing 101 forum (General Section) trying to figure out how to keep it clean and shiny. Or, do like me, take up woodturning and make shift ***** out of exotic woods.
