Auxiliary Pump Delete?

Howdy ladies and gentlemen, Newbie here. I have searched up and down the web to find an answer more specific to our platform (Mini) but cant seem to find a straight answer. I did run across multiple how to post on the BMW platform. Golden question is, Can the Auxiliary Pump be Bypassed? and will it cause any significant issues? Reason I am asking is because I have owned several factory and aftermarket forced induction vehicles and this seems to be the first time I've seen this. Second reason is because one of the nipples on mine is cracked causing a leak, upon removal I was like hmmm, is this even really necessary.

Thanks in advance!

The auxiliary pump seems to be a critical turbocharger part that prevents heat from building up and causing damage.

The auxiliary electric water pump is in the system to help shed heat after the engine is shut off. Considering these engines like to run hot, I would replace it rather than remove it.

It doesn't have to cost that much, and can be swapped out in a couple hours:
