Can you help me ID this part?

Hello, good people. I'm hoping someone can identify this part that just fell off the bottom passenger's side of my 2009 MINI Cooper Clubman.

I must have been in a fugue state at the bank drive-through. I tried to angle sharply into a lane to my left, thought I'd made it, but ran the passenger's side of the car into a curb. D'oh! Grind, grind, total embarrassment, and the attached black part on the ground at the end of it all. It's 3 inches wide, about 2 inches tall, and about 2 inches deep.

Any ideas what this is...and how important it is to re-attach quickly?

Many thanks!
-AW

It's where you are suppose to put the jack to lift the car. If you go to the other side you'll see where it's suppose to go.

They sell them on eBay.

They sell them on eBay. I lost mine long time ago. I’ve been thinking of buying it/ I’ve been procrastinating. Good thing that I’m still able to position the jack perfectly. I have an R55 too 14”

Yep, those things can get knocked off from road debris, They also get chewed up over the years from floor jacks.

We have some aftermarket options. They just have a pushpin in the middle that holds them tight.
