Ok, I'm TOTALLY STRESSED OUT! I just bought this car, haven't even made the first payment on it! It started making a noise that i thought was clutch related when accelerating in first from a complete stop. Like a whining noise NOT a quiet noise either...sounds like brakes are squealing...but obviously...not brakes.
Then it started happening in just about any gear as i switched from clutch to gas pedal. Now I'm realizing it happens ANYTIME i put it under load.
In other words, as long as i totally BABY it, it won't squeal. But if i give it just a little "too much" gas, it squeals. First, second, 6th...doesn't matter. It does it whether I'm taking off from a stop, or driving at 45 50 etc mph... To make the noise, just gotta step on it...
It stops immediately after i let off the gas.
I don't know what to do...I've never encountered anything like this before...
I'm financially strained as it is... I have no idea what to do here... Someone said push rod maybe... Others are throwing out transmission words...all sounding terrifyingly horrible! Amy hep would be much appreciated... And no, it isn't road noise...

how about what model? year?
did u get any warranty with it?
ur gonna need to be a lot more detailed if u want to get any reasonably helpful ideas generated.

 

Two initial questions. What is the oil level in the engine? Have you ensured that the transmission has sufficient gear oil? If it is making the noise during turns I'd suspect power steering pump. It could also be a worn out alternator bearing. Many possible issues. One last question, when you shift gears and punch the gas, does the car accelerate quickly or does it seem to lag a bit? Okay, last question. Base model or S?
