P0088 Fuel Rail/System Pressure-Too High

Hello all, just changed out both intank pump with filter and HPFP on 2008 Clubman S turbocharged.
Only code that comes up now is the P0088.
When checking the pressure at the rail while running at idle it is around 700 where it’s supposed to be. While driving and recording a log I do see it go over 1700 when punching it.
Looking for ideas or solutions what may be going on here?
Thanks in advance!
Josh.

Hey there.

Was wondering if you'd found a solution to your problem, as I'm in the same boat: replaced HPFP and filter, only left with the P0088. The only advice I've gotten so far is that the fuel rail pressure sensor may be bad/going. I've now replaced two HPFP within about 15 months, so I was going to change it out, thinking it might be the underlying problem.

Also, inspect the hardline that goes from the HPFP to the fuel rail, if it's kinked or bent at all, it can cause the P0088, and would need to be replaced.

Any luck?

I have the same code. I have not changed the fuel filter. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
