Soft clutch feel

Hello, I am looking at a 2010 clubman S and the clutch seems aweful soft. I have a 2003 R50 and 2005 R53 and the clutch on both are much harder than this R55. Just wondering if that's normal for this car. Owner says the clutch has been changed, 73,000 miles on the car..

My 09 r55 still has a hard clutch at 141k but I do remember in high school getting a 2011 Countyman S as a rental and the clutch was really soft. My dad hated how it drove. I would ask what clutch he installed?

Thanks for the reply, He doesn't know which clutch was installed. I pushed the sport button and went through the gears pretty hard, didn't slip. Hopefully somebody will chime in with a 2010 so I can pick this up..

The clutch pedal is significantly softer than an R53 pedal, but that is due to complaints of the pedal being too heavy, so the pedal pivots were played around with.

Pedal feel is also subjective, you can drive 3 of the same year and make car and have 3 different feeling pedals. It all comes down to how the clutch was broken in, driven, and life.

If it doesn't give you any issues I'd just chock it up to the normal pedal feel.

Well thanks for the replies, that totally eased my mind. I'm probably gonna buy it this evening. It's electric blue with silver top. $6500 with 73000 miles. Super clean too. I'll post pictures later
