I received this email today. Any clues on what this service does?

"My name is Anne Tomlinson and I am the service advisor here at MINI
of Knoxville. I wanted to reach out via phone and email to inform you that
there is a service action required on your 2013 Mini Cooper S. I apologize
if you no longer own the vehicle and I am inconveniencing you in any way.
If you are still the owner, please be informed that we require the vehicle
to update software and program control units for the vehicle to run
efficiently. Please let me know when a good day would be for you to drop it
off to us, as the programming could take anywhere from an hour to a couple
hours. I would be more than happy to set you up with a loaner vehicle so
that you can go to work or run errands while we service the vehicle. Thank
you for your time and consideration in this matter and I look forward to
hearing from you soon. Have a wonderful week."
