Ipod connect

Just bought a 15 Clubman and when I plug my Ipod into the USB port it says my cable is not supported. This is the cable that came with the Ipod that I plug into my PC.

Welcome. You need a Y-Cable from Mini. They run about $75. It plugs into both the USB and the headphone jacks. Yes,its a 1999 design... Should be bluetooth... Mini has set up the input for the stereo to analog

You can also have a shop use NCSExpert to code your stereo to digital input for about $25, then your standard cable will work

I know this response is years too late, but how do I go about coding the stereo?

I’m not sure if it can be done to all models and years. I thought I saw somewhere that’s its not possible on all of them. I’ve never had the Mini Y-connector. In my 2012 R60, with an iPhone X, I just use a belkin splitter for charging and using headphones at the same time. Use one of those with the lightening cable and a 4 electrode audio cable. The key is using a 4 conductor audio cord, as the typical audio cable is usually a 3 conductor cable. I picked up a 2 pack from Amazon for under $20. Hope this helps.

I understand and thank you for responding. I just bought a 2013 R55 and I’ve got an iPhone 8+. I’m just looking for something for it to show up when I plug in my iPhone. I had a 2012 R60, but never knew this was a possibility. Do you happen to have a link for them on Amazon?
