Tint/decal on sunroof

Being in FL and dealing with all of this horrible sunny weather I'm wondering what can be done about the sun in the panoramic sunroof I've got.

I know about ZippeeShades but I'm not really keen on using them. I'm more interested in putting something on the glass to block out more of the light permanently as I find it distracting when driving, not to mention the heat buildup.

From what I understand, tint on sunroofs is not generally recommended because of the heat buildup in the glass can cause cracking - the place that did my window tint would do it, but I'd have to sign a waiver of liability. So I was thinking, has anyone done something with a white decal/vinyl on their sunroof? Seems like it would repel heat as well as light.

There are vendors that print on perforated vinyl to put up there so you have a design of your choice but it covers it enough to help with the heat but still let some light thru. I have made alot of local club members roof stripes that we just run across the sunroof to help some, and have done others with a full checker roof which covers quite a bit of the sunroof yet still lets light in and would give you a cool shadow effect on the inside..

You could get the UJ, checkered top or something: You will need the ones with pano glass, it will block out some light while allowing some in.

I have a 2011 Clubman and had the same issues with the heat from the sunroof. (Check my gallery} I had a checkered board wrap put on the roof ( It partially blocks some hear. Then had the sunroof tinted with one of those heat blocking films. It reduced the heat more. Lastly, I bought one of those windshield reflects and cut it myself to fit inside the car. I have the aluminum reflector part facing up, which you cannot see from the the outside due to the tint. Inside I pull the factory sunshade and you can't see it. I am able to use the tilt function with it installed also. It really makes a difference. Having the shade reflector, keeps the heat from getting into the car and keeps it the coolest.
