Over here in Portland we don't get much snow. Rain? Sure, plenty. But not snow. So I don't want to spend a ton on snow tires, but I want to be able to get out of a situation if it comes up (snow/ice while I'm at work or something). I've heard from various people that you can't use chains if this or that, so I wanted to see what you MINI folks thought!

So my question is, can I use snow chains on my JCW Clubman with 205/45-R17s? Is there enough clearance or will it damage my suspension/wheel wells? Will it damage the face of my wheels due to the metal on metal?
