New Tires, TPMS Won't Reset

Just put new 4 new tires onto my car over the weekend and reset the Tire Pressure Sensor when it pinged on saying my pressure was low. After that reset everything seemed to be running fine. Now all of a sudden, it's always saying my rear right tire is low, but is reading to be the same pressure as all the other tires. Going through the menu it won't reset either. Any thoughts?

You have to hold it to reset then drive off. All I can think of is that you have a bad sensor or it was damaged when they replaced the tire. Do you have Navigation or stock radio?

Recheck all you tire pressures.

It could be a damaged sensor. We had a lot of cars that came into the dealer with TPMS issues after people went into tire shops to have new tires put on.

I do have the Navigation.
How much would the sensor be to replace if that were to be the case?

Anytime we had customers come into the dealer that had a bad TPMS and had recently had tires installed by a shop, we recommended they go back to have the shop replace it. If your sensor was fine before the tire shop and is indeed damaged now, I'd suggest taking it back to have them repair it as it would be no cost to you.

I would see if they damaged it by accident , when you mount the tires with the machine , they have to watch not the bump it.

There is a pre 9/2009 and a post 9/2009 onboard wheel TPMS.

The sensors have batteries powering them, unfortunately non- replaceable. Could be that a sensor was damaged & it could be one sensor has a flat battery. If there is no physical damage it may be the battery. Not sure tire stores can check for dead sensors. When I had the same problem as the OP I had to go to an indi MINI shop to find out which sensor was dead. Best price I found for a sensor was Outmotoring.
