Changing Manual Transmission Fluid

Hello everyone, I recently decided I'm going to tackle changing the Manual Transmission Fluid on my '08 Clubbie S with LSD that has a 110k and never had a fluid MTF change before and wanted to know exactly which fluid to change it with, The threads here aren't very clear on which one to use for the LSD equipped cars, but what I've got is that I should replace it with BMW MTF 94, but I'm not positive, also how much should I be paying for this, on ECS it's like $400 or $500 and I don't have that kind of money to spend on a fluid especially since it's 20L, and I only need ~3L, also I found on eBay and MTF 94 manufactured by a company named Granville in the U.K., it's only $20 a litre and says for BMW/MINI's on the bottle, any thoughts? Thanks in advance!!

We've put Redline MTL in our car before and not had any issues. http://www.ecstuning.com/Mini-2010-C...14B16C/ES1502/

A local mini dealer would also have the OEM fluid. The LSD doesn't require any special fluid compared to a non-LSD equipped mini so as long as you find a trans fluid that meets the OEM requirements you should be all set.

Redline MTL, Royal Purple, Pennzoil Syncromesh all get my vote, I've run all three on multiple of my own vehicles and was pleased with any of the three.

If you are running a factory LSD then any of these will be fine, but if it is an OS Giken or equivalent they recommend you run a heavier 75w-140 for optimal performance.

Be sure you can open the fill plug, before you open the drain plug.

manual fluid

Like som said, definitely make sure you can crack open the fill plug first. Should be torqued somewhere around 30 foot pounds.

I've used Redline MTL; it's inexpensive and easy to find. I first bought and tried a manual fluid pump and then ended up simply gravity-filling mine using a funnel and tygon tubing snaked through from atop of the engine.
