Trying to find original owner!
Hello all, I bought a used 2008 MINI Cooper S Clubman from a RLMB Auto in New Jersey in November, original owner lives in Mendham (info in cars nav.) and bought at MINI Morristown, she's Chili Red/Black with cloth interior and a whole bunch of checkered accessories on her (sunroof, floor mats, etc.) with 106000 miles and was wondering if the original owner is/was active in NAM and if your reading this (I know it's a long shot) could you PM me as I have a couple of questions for you about the car. Thanks!!!
FYI, somebody contacted me about my BMW that I sold to a dealer. Frankly it freaked me out and it wasn't that I left any paperwork or trail, the dealer gave them my contact info. In my case it turned out to be ok, but I won't be selling any more cars to that guy.
Sure the original owner can contact you, but don't be surprised if they don't.

I know there is a very slip chance I'll ever get any response from the original owner, however she left a very large paper trail (contracts, extended warranties, etc.) and all her info was stored in the nav (name, number and address) and my MINI dealer gave a complete service history and the car which also had her info on it, but thought it would be awkward to contact her
If her contact info is there call her /e-mail her / send her a letter (whatever contact you have) and let her know that you have some paperwork that might be important for her that she left behind. Once you brake that ice, then go ahead and bust out with the "Oh by the way," question
Yeah....notvmych good can come from finding a prior owner IMO...
Would feel creapy...
Folks tend to sell/trade a car in to avoid it...
Cause the "by the way" questions are always kinda....er...hard to phrase so you are not acusing somebody of something.... Be it a modification, accident, etc...
Good luck, either way!!
