New R55 owner

Bought a 09 R55 w 74k yesterday to replace our 02 R50 with 137k. Mellow Yellow with 6 speed manual tranny. The R50 was a 5 speed manual. I have never seen an R55 Mellow Yellow in person around the Denver area so I am thinking it was a low produced color.

Looking forward to the newer ride and drive.

Waiting for it to be delivered. I'll post pictures then. Mellow Yellow with Black roof, mirrors and rear trim.

Checking on the car today. It would not start when the inspection was performed. Trying to find out what the issue is before finalizing the deal. Hope I didn't jinx it by posting here before actually taking possession. We already sold the R50. I had no idea R50's are in such demand here in Denver. I sold it in 1 day for what I had it listed for and had 8 people interested.

The R55 is an 2009 and the R50 we sold was a 2002.

I had a 2010 which uses the same N14 engine as the 2009. There were three things that I had to have replaced due to a design flaw.
1. Valve cover and gasket. The valve cover cracked.
2. Water pimp housing due to cracking
3. Timing change tensioner which Mini is now recalling.

I just traded it in for a 2012 (uses the N18 engine) due to high miles on the 2010. If the price is good and those items were fixed, you should be good to go.

Well, good for the inspection. The Mellow Yellow had a bad engine so I pulled the plug. That's a bummer. I could have bought it for $4500 if I had the extra cash. Alas, found a Grey 2010 S manual in Santa Fe that looks good. Will know more by Friday.
