R55 intake system suggestions
intake system suggestions
My 14' is broken in enough and I'm ready to upgrade the air intake. Question, how can a rookie Mini guy tell if I have thw N14 or N18? Also, what suggestions for vendor's and products on an intake?
I have not seen any real gains besides noise , the factory has done their homework.
By a JB+ and be done.
N14 engines were in the '07-'10 "S" models.
N18 engines were in the '11-'13 "S" models.
JCW had the N14 until '11 then N18 in '12.
And as rckrzy says, there really isn't any real gains from aftermarket intakes. Just asthetics. I chose the asthetically pleasing route. Plus you get a little more noise. If you want better flow, just get a hi-flow dry panel filter. Or you could get the JCW intake, it's a little better.

Great thanks for the advice. I have been following the JB+ feed for quite some time.
