Double trouble

Wife has 2011 Clubman S, 16K miles. Comes home week ago monday and tells me she can't read her MPG in the tach anymore. Of course not, there is the big 1/2 engine power symbol. I already have an appointment with the dealer for the next day for them to install the JCW water temp and rel torque gauges. Start it up the next morning and the 1/2 power light is gone. Take it down (115 miles) for gauges. They clear the code, says it's some boost malfunction message, not to worry. One week later I come home and wife says the engine cooling fan won't shut off. Turn on power without starting the engine. Temp gauge reads 0 not ambient cooling temp. OK, DME does not know the engine temp, so it keeps the fan running. Try to start engine and in the first 15 second try it runs on 1 cylinder and dies, second try 2 cylinders, third try all cylinders. Take it for a drive to clear it out and temp gauge only comes up to 60 C. Get appointment for 3 days later at dealer. Start up on the morning and same thing, 1 then 2 then 4 cylinders. Drive down and temp gauge is all over the dial. Long story short. New HPFP as it was putting out too much pressure and flooding the engine. Also new thermostat and temp sensor as it's part of thermostat now. Alls good now. Temp runs 100 C to 105 C like it should . The 5 MPG I lost going to dealer is back up again. As luck would have it we had just made a round trip to Montana from Cali (2700 miles) on family business.

Still love our MINI's though. Her 2011 Clubman S and My 2013 JCW Hardtop!
