Lost key

While traveling I lost the key to my clubman. I was able to open a door by running a thin medal hook in through an window I left cracked open and pulling the door handle. Once I had the door open I tried to unlock the boot doors with the unlock switch so we could get our luggage out and the switch will not will not work.

Has anyone hear of this happening????

theft protection provided by the micro-chip in the key?

So a "jimmy" can not be used to pop the lock and access everything else?

I dunno .... just postulating

no, but check under your rear seat (its just clipped in, you can pop it up) and you will find a cable with a loop on the end. pull the loop and your hatch will manually pop open :D

Apparently not in the Clubman.

Without the smart key, the MINI is pretty much disabled, but I'll go check mine just to be sure (unlock car, go back into house and put key on table, go back out to car).

Just checked (keys in the house, out of range). The lock/unlock switch does activate the car doors, but not the barn doors on my Clubman.
