R55 Very HAPPY Clubman Owner
I purchased Gloria two days before christmas in 2010. She had 9000 miles on her from the previous owner. I have wanted a MINI since they were first released in the states in 2002. I remember many a long night spent druling over autotrader listings of R53's. Like a few of on this site the addiction started before I had even taken possesion. A CAI and Coil overs were ordered the same day as the purchase. As you can see from my signature it continued haha. So now a little over two years later I just hit 40,000 Miles. Around 600 of those miles have been driven on a racetrack and another 5000 or so to or from a racetrack or car show. Usually at 100MPH+ on the German Autobahn. Gloria has been through 6 different countries and has never left me stranded. In all her travels the only thing I have had a problem with is the chain tensioner. Owning a MINI is unlike owning any other car for me. I change my oil every 3000 miles and before/after every track day. She gets washed and waxed once a week weather permitting. I will probably never part with her, even though my wife would like that. With these vehicles the effort you give is what you get back. It can be great and fullfilling or it can be frustrating and riddled with dissappointment. But I will be a MINI owner for life. Either way.......

My 2008 Clubman S just recently rolled over 100k KMs. She hasn't been without her issues but right now I'm happy with her. At this mileage, I'm just really enjoying the car rather than dodging flying debris and counting stone chips, etc. I'm sure there are issues lurking on the horizon but reality is I don't think there's anything out there right now I'd rather be driving given the performance and the costs of running this vehicle. I'm a very content Mini owner right now. When the turbo goes, I've got some plans though!!!
I am on the verge of buying a 2010 clubman S, and this post has really made my day and solidified my decision to get it. I owned a 2003 cooper s and loved it and never had an issue with it. I am hoping the same for the clubman. Thank you all for the great posts!
Red and Black Dots, Consumers Reports Auto Issue
Anyone else notice that CR has separated the Clubman from the hardtop for the first time? However, the Clubman Cooper and Clubman S are apparently blended. None the less, [Brace yourselves], the Clubman earns a solid red dot for reliability! From the yearly charts this appears to come from the 2010 model year data. My 2008 model has 'Insufficient Data'.
So our Clubbys have a top reliability ranking as well as tops in "Accident Avoidance", but have slipped to just "Good" (empty circle) for Owner Satisfaction. It used to be the solid red...
They also have the regular Cooper hardtop manual in the best cars under $25k category.

P.S. Consumers Reports
Upon looking in more detail on the web site, they do separate the Clubman S from the Cooper. The normal aspiration Clubman is solid red and the Clubman S is solid black, as are all the MINI turbo models. The S models all have top rated owner satisfaction ratings, while the more reliable straight Coopers are closer to average in that department.

i've had my clubby for exactly six days and 125 miles, and i'm quite happy with her so far
i too was a little worried when i started reading this forum about not just the clubby, but mini's in general. i just sucked it up and got it anyway after the test drive!

My 2009 S just turned 51k miles and I like it more every day. It's at the tire shop right now getting 17-inch wheels and a new set of Contis. I'm anxious to see how she feels without the run flats.
I had the third brake light replaced under recall for moisture intrusion, the brakes were gone through last year, and the timing chain tensioner was replaced prior to my ownership at 22k miles. No problems to speak of otherwise. Fingers crossed, since I'm out of warranty now!
I put 26k miles on the car in under a year. I keep it religiously clean and keep a log of all oil changes, refuels, and any work done. I will probably keep it for some time... my last three cars had over 180k miles when I finally sold them. I hope to keep my Clubman looking essentially new. She's a keeper.
My only complaint is the windshield. It's not very resilient and there are many tiny blemishes. I will probably replace it this year.

Issues? Sure. But after 1.5 yrs, 37K+ miles, 33 mpg avg and many twisties, the wife and I are very happy with our Clubman. Absolutely love how much room the back seat has, which many people comment on, and have no hesitation about putting 2 toddlers in back.
Best thing we've done so far is swap out the stock conti's. We noticed a sizable reduction in road noise.
Looking forward to many more years of ownership.
