Water in the boot - dealer repaired but $$
I've seen several posts mentioning a problem with Clubmans whereby they find water in the trunk of the car in the spare tire well after a heavy rain. I had the same issue on my 2009 Clubman. I've seen various DIY fixes, but I took it to the dealership for some other problems. At the same time they inspected and fixed the water ingress problem.
Apparently they had to go in and change a rubber gasket that they said was most likely poorly installed at factor and/or was a bad OEM part. They also said in addition to the gasket, they needed to seal it with epoxy as some of the body joints were not fully sealed. Because of the use of the sealant, they had to keep the car 2 days to allow it to dry properly.
I'm happy to report that after 2 days of heavy rain my trunk is dry. I'm a little unhappy that the repair cost me €206 (mostly labour to access the area) and wasn't covered by Mini given the car has about 96,000km on it.

Do you still have a warranty on the car? If it is out of warranty, I would have tried my hardest to get them to pay for everything because the fact that some of the body joints were not fully sealed means it came from the factory with the defect and its not a "wear and tear" issue. No way you should have paid for it!
Yeah, I tried my hardest, but due to the mileage Mini wouldn't cover it. The warranty ran out in July 2011, over 1 year ago. It was a combination of warranty expiration and the "high" km.
