I know there are threads about OPENING the doors, but now my left (drivers) side door will not lock into place. Seems to be an issue with the latch but I can't tell.

The latch moves and it SEEMs to be in the correct position but I don't know what it's supposed to look like or if it's even supposed to 'click' when I press the unlock (currently, it doesn't).

I just drove it from Pebble Beach down to LA with the the damned thing tied together with a bungee cord. I was a bit nervous for the whole trip.

Any advice? I'd love to NOT take this damned money pit back into the shop...

 

Sounds like you either have a broken latch and a few others have complained about this.

or

Water in the door handle. If water gets in the handle ans shorts out the contacts it will not let the door stay shut.

 

I have some issues with my latch on the passenger side and its either a latch that has gone bad and needs replacement...still unsure but I finally was able to OPEN my door. What I did notice though when messing around with my passenger latch is that if I had my latch clicked closed and door open that my driver side door would not close. I would make sure the passenger door latch is open like the picture on my thread issue. And then try to close your driver side door. Not sure if that made sense but good luck! Really is a pisser though!

 

Turns out the latch was busted and needed to be replaced. Good folks at Ronin Autowerks in fullerton helped me out.
