R55 greetings from NH
greetings from NH
just picked up my R55 last week and i could not be happier! I traded in my 07 F150 and i dont know what took me so long to make the change. i love everything about the car and cant wait to get out and do some driving up here in the white mountains and out to the coast of New England! Im not sure if anyone else has had this issue but while cruising at 60+ i have a lot of wind noise around the sunroof while its closed, im not sure if this is because i do not have a sun visor but that seems like it shouldnt do that? shed some light please?
CHEERS!
CHEERS!
I'm not sure about the road noise problem through your sunroof, but I know that I get more road noise in my R56 MCS than I expected. Glad to have another NH MINI running around. Where in NH are you from? I'm in Manch-Vegas.
Oh, and be sure you wave.

Congrats on the new car and welcome to the family.
As for the sunroof check the level of the glass of the sun roof compared to the metal of the roof at the front edge. If the glass is level or above the metal then it will cause a lot of noise. It is supposed to be just slightly below the metal by about 1mm if my memory serves me correctly. If the car is NEW or used with less than 50K on it then the dealer can adjust this under warranty. If out of warranty then the usual cost on this adjustment is $200-$300.
Now on to some other fun things to do with your car. Not sure if you have heard of these or not so i will just list them
MINI On Top - a gathering of MINI's on June 22-24 at Mt Washington NH - http://www.minisontop.com
MAMA - Manadnock Area MINI Association - not a highly active club but do have a few activities a year. One of them is Berries & BBQ at Manadnock Berries in Troy NH usually in July - http://www.mini-mama.org/joomla/
NEMINI - rather large and active group of MINI owners in the North East US Not to many activities up in the MA- NH area but very active in the CT and NJ areas. There are getting to be more and more activities up our way though.
For not so local MINI Activities check out the National Events Section
