I regret not getting one and then my wife buys an automatic one... I love driving the thing, but I think I would have WAY preferred a manual Clubbie to my DCT (read: auto) Focus. She rubs it in a bit...

The Clubman made me join the MINI ranks finally, and I've never regretted it. I think of it as the Perfect Car.

I always wanted a MINI, but because of the size of the R56, I never pulled the trigger. Once the Clubman came out, I was sold! The best car that I have ever had! Most of the time it is just me in the car, but when I do have guests, they have no problem getting into the back seat. Plus, the Clubbie is just so unique, I wouldn't trade it for anything.

To me, the Clubman seems more "solid" but still every bit as fun. It's nice to have the option of the extra space. I like not having to worry about apologising to backseat passengers for lace of room. And, I like how stable the car feels when I'm doing fun things with it whilst driving.

I love my Clubbie. It's just right for me and my life style. My only regret was that I didn't custom order it, but bought it off the dealer's lot. There are a couple of features that I would like - roof rails, Sirius radio, heated seats. I'm managing to cope just fine though!

In that case, no regrets here! Although, I do wish I custom ordered mine but I bought it used. I really wish I had the lounge leather.

I had a R53 prior to the R55 and functionally the R55 can't be beat. It is shocking what you can fit in the back, heck... There is a thread dedicated to it. Personally I brought home a new three burner gas grill still shrink wrapped.

There are times I miss my coupe, mostly when pushing it really hard in the corners but overall the Clubman would be my preference for 95% of my driving/commute. I'm 6'4" and can fit four adults in the car with me, try that in a R56!

None whatsoever. My only regret would be not going for the JCW, but other than that, it's a blast to drive and the extra space is nice.

I love my clubman and have no regrets. I haul my family of 4 in it with no issues. My oldest son is 6' and rides in the back with no issues

If I didn't have to deal with transporting young kids I'd rather have my R56 back. I think the hatch is better looking and you just don't get the full MINI "feel" with the longer car (both subjective, but my $.02).

If they'd had the bench seat available for the Countryman I think I'd probably have preferred it as a holdover until the kids get older. The looks have really grown on me, and while it feels even less "MINI" it would be really nice to have rear doors on both sides.

But regrets? No - I'm quite happy with my Clubman. If I had a hatch I'd be frustrated about difficulty fitting car seats and getting kids in and out of the back. If I had a Countryman I'd probably like it to handle better, sit lower and I'd have to look at that ugly center rail every day. *shrug*

EDIT: Thought of one - I regret not buying a Clubman before the LCI refresh. I still find the '11+ bumpers ugly as sin and there's no JCW grille available for the '11+ non-S Coopers like there was with the '07-10s.

My almost 6' son complains bitterly about riding in the back...because he wants to drive it!

None at all I love my clubbie, I had a Gen one hatch and dont like the changes in styling of the gen twos on the hatch. The clubbie is quirky, has some wicked design elements and is totally practical for all the things I have to carry about as a teacher.. Love it

It's by far the worst made and least reliable car I've ever owned, but I don't at all regret buying the Clubman as opposed to the R56 -- the extra space is constantly proving itself valuable, and it's a little more stable than the R56s I've driven the numerous times my Clubman has been being repaired at the dealer.

With plack paint on the back I think it's a super-sharp car...with the silver it looks a little toy-like to me, personally.

You could probably work a great deal if you wanted to trade in... I've been up to the dealer a few times in the past month or so and always see the same few sad looking coupes sitting on the lot. If your dealer is the same I'd bet they'd be happy to unload one.

Picking the final color combo was the only drain on the brain.
What looks good with some dirt on it???

Our '04 S has 90k and our '08 Clubman S has 100k. I have to admit, however, that for driving fun, the '04 (slightly modded) beats the Clubman hands down. But for fuel mileage and utility, the Clubman wins. And it does a much better job of towing our '75 Clubman Estate!

We've had our 2012 S Clubman for just over 6 months and 5700 miles now. No regrets except for the purchase of the $250 center armrest. It is pretty much useless. No issues at all in the first 6 months and we have no regrets. I negotiated 0.9% for 60 months and $1000 off the sticker price. This was on a car ordered from the factory and not on the lot. While we like the car a lot, I feel the purchase price is high for the amount of car you get but we knew this going into it.

My only regret is not having MINI build me the JCW R55.

I chose the R55 mostly because of the extended wheelbase and cargo space. I test drove both the R56 & R55 turbos, and I couldn't tell much difference around town. The real difference was at higher speeds, where the R56 seemed to become a little twitchy.

Now that I've had my Clubman for 2 years and put some work into it, I can now beat modded R56's without question.

Heck yes I have a regret....that I didn't get the Clubman!

Still love my R56, but the clubbie would have taken away all of my wife's questioning on whether or not we need a bigger car. Not to mention the ride is a bit better with the slightly longer wheelbase.
