Clubman summer rubbers.... Opinions?!?

I know this could go in the tire/wheel section but regardless, I wanted opinions from other Clubman owners.

A few of us are looking for new summer rubbers and were wondering what people like and what may be new and available. I guess if i can speak on behalf of the other lads is we're looking for a purely summer performance tire in 18". Run flats are NOT an option. I don't believe any of us track our clubmans at this time. Wear rating is not a super high priority, for me anyways. These cars are pretty light.

So I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on a tire or two and any good experiences in purchasing from somewhere.

Cheers.

I've had the Hankook Evo V12s on and so far I love them. Not very noisy, nice profile, grippy without overdoing it, good in the wet. Let's not forget the price. I am on 17" R112s. I was happy enough with the tires that I bought a set for my 996TT and I am very happy with them on this car too. I kept readin about them so since they are affordable I gave em a try. On my M5 I use Vredesteins which I love but I couldnt find them in 17 size at the time. Oh yeah I got a great deal with a $80 gift card back from Discount Tire. Look around since a major vendor usually has a great deal on them

I'm not sure about the 18 " rims, but on my summer 17" rims, I have a new set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports, for about $900. It's top rated by Tire Rack and Consumers Reports. Good tread life, even if a lower priority for you, but absolutely the best at grip for anything wet or dry. Just nothing frozen. Mine are pretty quiet too. They've only been on two days, so most of my enthusiasm comes from reading all winter.

+1 on the super sports. These are bar none the best tire that I've ever owned. They are a little pricy, but in my opinion they are so worth it once you realize that they have a good wear rating as well. They stick like glue (mine are 215 45R17 though) and they ride smoother and quieter than my winter tires, which were smoother and quieter that the run flats that came with the car.

Edit: I forgot to say that while I've only used them for 1 summer (maybe 4k) they still look brand new, and they are sitting in my basement just waiting to get back on my girl.

I have the same tires on my 18" R105s, love them. I run the Conti DWS in the winter which is a good all around tire but can't wait to pull them off for the Spring.

I just ordered a set of Goodyear Eagle GTs in 225/45/17. Huge rim proptector and if you apply for a GY. credit card $140 back by way of a debit card. Total after rebate about $420. I'm just about finished cleaning and polishing my Crown spokes and will get them mounted in a few days. I'll let you know how how they are once they are on.

I have been running Yokohama Envigors (205/50R16) for the last tow springs/summer/fall and have had no complaints. Quiet tire and great handling.

Eagle GT's

I just had the Eagles installed and went for a short test ride with all types of surfaces from a Tar and Chipped country road to old 4 lane concrete and am very impressed with these tires. Smooth and quite with lots of grip. They were like butter compared to my Pirelli Winter 190's, you don't even notice the small bumps and patches in the road. Still get the big jolts on large bumps but it will take a set of Konis do anything about that.
The 225/45/17's look sweet on the Crown Spokes and no tire rub at all. Best part about them is the HUGE Rim protector, I'd have to do something stupid to scuff the wheels with these on.
