R55 New Shoes for the Clubbie
New Shoes for the Clubbie
I had a few issues with my tires lately and decided to get 4 new tires.
After stressing out about to buy RunFlats or Regular I finally decided to go with regular tires. Then the next Biggie
What Brand.
I decided on Continental Extream Contact DWS.
after a few weeks still very happy I did. I did have a reset issue on the TPMS but all is great now!
I decided on 205/50-16. The ride is equivilant to changing Mud Tires to Car tires. Major, Major comfort difference! very quiet smooth ride.
Glad I did it!

I changed to michelin pilot super sport and while the ride difference hasn't been as shocking as I was hoping, the level of grip that I have gained over the RFT is amazing. An extra bonus is that I lost very little steering feel. I highly recommend these tires if you are looking for a high performance summer only tire (I run winter tires from November to April)
I just put them on my TDI Jetta Sportwagen about 6k miles ago.The DWS has a fairly soft sidewall and you'll notice a slight lag in steering response, but otherwise a great tire. Not sure if the steering response thing goes away or if I just got used to it but I dont notice it anymore. They grip quite well in all conditions, dry, wet and were also quite well in snow.
