R55 Coilovers on the R55
Coilovers on the R55
So I have been banging my head against the wall trying to decide on my first leap into performance mods for my R55S. I've been back and forth deciding between FMIC, CAI, Alta AP, JCW Tune Kit, Exhaust, etc.... I THINK I may have decided to settle on a set of coilovers to start though.
I have looked over the options and considered my budget. I want the flexibility the coilovers give me as I will do track days after I get more mods on the car, and I don't want to start with springs then want to change to coilovers later. So jumping in with coilovers, I am trying to decide what the best are for my needs/budget. If budget was no issue, I think I would go for the KW V2's, but sadly budget is an issue.
What are you running on your Clubman? I have heard good things about the Megan Racing coilovers. The fact they have multiple steps of dampening adjustments is attractive for the price. These are what I am leaning towards but do you have any ideas?

I am running the H&R street performance coils. They work well and are plenty stiff enough for daily driving. The handle the track pretty well too. The nurburgring is the toughest track in the world on your suspension and they take it like a champ. The weak link at the moment in my car is the parada spec 2 tires.
Look at bc coils as well.
There are not a lot of cheaper coils that can be used for track duty. And some are not good improvements in handling. Just depends how serious you are about track. Something like 15-20 days a year is pretty serious.

I have the H&R RSS coil-overs as well, and for the money, you can't really beat it. Get yer ride height how you want it, and roll, but thats all the adjustability you get. Dire need of a rear sway bar though.
Reason being is for the damping adjustability and construction of the coils.
Quality and long-life use is critical for myself and my application.
