@ Oldsbear..

After I suprised my wife last night she said her first color choice would have been yellow, because she loves "BumbleBee" from the transformers movie...

Thank god its not offered this year in the Clubman because my dealer would have shot me if I called to have him cancel the Chili and start all over searching for yellow

Red fits her punky personality just fine, and she wouldn't look right in anything less "flashy." I'm sure she will see some awesome ideas for Vinyl at the Dragon to spice up her ride.

New Clubby owner to be...

Yes, the checkerboards on the sunroof were dealer installed. It does help somewhat with cutting down on the sun through the closed sunroof. I have an '11 MCSa and MINI has definitely tinted the sunroof a bit darker which is a big plus.

Well I was gonna respond and point out that we REALLY do not get that much snow here in NC AND the few times we did this winter my MCS performed most excellently in the snow, and my Insurance was not nearly that expensive here in Charlotte(The States worst drivers) but I see you went ahead and made a most excellent decision and bought another Chili Red Mini. Congratulations……….

Ohh the Plot thickens.......We did a ride with the local Tar Heel Mini club yesterday and I spoke to a lot of other Mini owners. I think that given the resale value, and increased power, we are gonna get a Clubby S.

I didn't know that in addition to just the turbo the S, has other features like the more aggressive grill, fog lights, and other options.
What really worried me was driving the non-S in summer with A/C full on a with a bike rack on top and a load of passengers. Not to mention the clutch engagement point is totally different between the two models and that could be a pain in the butt switching between cars. Not so much for me, but it could be confusing to my wife and while she's an excellent driver, I dont need any "oops" moments on a hill and/or wear and tear to the clutches.
I spoke to the dealer and he said no problem to not take delivery of the Clubby we had delivered in from GA, since they have a few Clubby S models on their lot. Decisions, decisions

I'm a regular "Justa Defender" in many circumstances, but yeah, with the AC on there's a significant power loss, and if it get hot where you live, you're gonna love the S when the sun comes out!

I got a good deal I think and it made sense since the payment only went up $60 a month for 60 months at .09%.

Also, I called the insurance guy and gave him the VIN.....he was way off...my rate will only go up $120 per year!

So we spent hours searching online and these manual Non-S Clubbies are like hens teeth. So we found a Chili Red, black roof/mirrors, carbon leatherette interior, with Premium package and Ipod/Bluetooth.

Oddly enough we found only one car in the south outfitted the way we wanted and it also had roof rails!! My wife will love the easy lift bike rack

Since the car is at distribution center in GA, I will be able to get it and not have the dealer touch the paint.....ie NO SWIRLS...

It will get a wash and then full clear bra treatment and I avoided the BS "First Place" finish charge of $400

All said done I paid $22,835 including floormats and out the door. (I paid for Clear bra cash xtra in adddition)

The wife was real suprised, now we have to wait a week for delivery.......

The first question she asked after she got over the shock was " Does it have the little glowing lights inside too?"

Women....

Two chili reds in the same house.......my friends will think we are nuts. At least we have piece of mind for 36 months of free warranty now.

Larry

Congratulations! I am so happy for you guys!!!! (sorry I did not respond sooner. things are a little crazy for me at the moment. That's another story for another forum. )

Congrats to Mini 15235

The Clubman S has plenty of horsepower and plenty of room when you flip the back seat.

Mine is just about 3 years old and only has 15k miles.
I'm thinking about shopping for another, just because I want to.

Every passenger is always surprised by the power of the engine.

Clubby S

Well, I pulled the trigger and bought the Misses a Chile Red Clubman S .

There were so many pluses that the additional $3600 seemed like a no brainer. It has the Premium package, cold weather, Xenon headlamps, chrome line interior, silver /checkered dash and door elipticals, blue tooth/ipod and nice rims. She is gonna flip when she sees it.

Her car got dropped off today, a little sooner than expected. Here is a pic of it pre detail and very dirty. Tomorrow it gets cleaned and then clearbra installed.

She picks him up Thursday at 300pm.....

Two chili reds in the same house...uggghhhh..Hopefully at the Dragon she will see whats she wants and dress her car up when we get home.

Its Official!

We took delivery at 230pm today and we are now a two chili red MINI household. My wife and daughter picked up the Clubman after I had signed all the papers, activated her radio and programmed the blue tooth. I got to see her pull up and trade in her old keys or the new ones

She was Soooo happy and can't wait to drive it to work and show it off tomorrow.

Look out Minis on the Dragon...she is on a mission to see what graphics catch her eyes to put on "her" car.
