10 pointer jumps over clubman - almost
Well, this morning I am in traffic (25 miles/hour) and there is a rather large anxious looking (snorting) 10 point buck trying to cross the road. There are several pick-up trucks in front of me and a few behind me. I guess the buck didn't see the MINI and he turns towards me and makes a leap and mad dash. He gets to me and jumps over at the passenger seats. I hear a whomp
on the side glass and the MINI tilts a bit...then it is all over!
I stop the car and take a look - not much to see - I can see where his body hit the rear side glass (impression) and two small dents (from hoofs) at third door but no scratches on the body work! The only "fatality" I can see is the stubby aluminum antenna is broken and bent at the connection!
I guess he jumped the MINI because he didn't see it - or he thought it was something else (rotting season!)
.
Just thought I would share the experience!
Edit - After looking more closely at the side of impact - the roof line got dented as well! The ridge that defines the roof height is dented in about three areas. All in all the damage doesn't appear to exceed my $500.00 deductable - will have to live with the dents - JEEZ!
Edit - I forgot that I went with no deductable for the MINI - so my Comprehensive will be covering 100%! I am scheduled for the body shop on Monday! Will let ya know how much the damage costs $$$$.

UPDATE - UPDATE
Took the clubman in for repairs on 11/22 - turns out I had full comprehensive coverage so repairs are free and don't go against me...
The deer did more damage than what was evident at first. The side window in the "club door" had a deep scratch from the antler! So far the repair cost for this "minor dare I say MINI" incident is close to $2,000!
From what I could get from the body shop the following had to be done:
1. Remove the sunroof, replace all weather stripping.
2. Replace antenna and holder (still had deer hair on it!)
3. I think they pulled the inner headliner, "stated that air bags had to be set aside", probably to repair the damage to the roof "ridge" that was damaged.
4. Roof molding replaced and pillar molding
5. Side window replaced - along with associated moldings (good thing - it had come unglued about a month ago!)
6. Repair damage to passenger side of door and club door
7. Repaint the entire passenger side, and roof.
I was told that it probably won't be ready until Monday next week. I don't have a problem with that since I have another vehicle that I can drive (F150 SCREW)... still, I miss the driving experience!
I have a question - does this go on the Car Fax - and do I find that D*mn Deer and get him for diminished value??!!
In this case Grandpa Got Run Over by a Reindeer!

Out here in Southeastern Virginia we get about a deer hit or two each week this time of year. Yours sounds a little high for that damage, but not real far out of line.
As far as CarFax, it depends on the insurance company. CarFax actually pays some insurance companies for the information, from what I understand. Some report to CarFax some don't. State Farm for example, does not. They feel the repair is between you, them and the repair facility. No one else. I do know , down here at least, Allstate and Progressive usually report. Not always accurately. We had a customer that called me raising cane that we told CarFax his car had frame damage. We surely don't, but Allstate did in his case. Worst of all, his car didn't have frame damage, only minor damage to the radiator support lower tie bar, below the radiator. Not sure if he ever got that straightened out.
Good luck. Let us know how it turns out.
