What else should I ask for?

We bought a 2009 Clubman S last week. It was a dealer owned vehicle with about 8000 miles. As I browse the owners manual, I see things they did not give me with the vehicle. I'm concerned I don't know what I don't know! Here is what I know, so far:

2 remote keys and 1 "spare" key
Owners booklet with manuals
1st Aid Kit (please confirm)

What am I missing? Thanks in advance for your kind guidance...

These forums have already been a great help!

Cheers

first aid kit is only for canadian models. US models do not get it.
do you have comfort access? if so, only 2 keys.
ah, if you are looking at the owners manual to find these things, how is it missing?

I think the spare key he is referring to is the flat plastic one to be put into your billfold and used for emergency.

but with comfort access i do not think you get one. I did not and when i asked i was told that comfort access did not get a plastic key.

Yes first aid kit, triangle, and spare tire (in most cases) are not normally furnished with a US spec car.

Manual on the other hand are a total of 6-8 pieces if i remember right. I am a way from my car right now so i can not give you a good list fo the manuals but can someone tell the OP what manuals are put in the car.

There is a key in each Key-fob. Press the silver button on the key-fob and it pops out. This is in case you have a dead battery. As far as a spare, You get a spare if you have 15 inch wheels with non runflats. Also the toolkit on top of the spare (big whoop) in a styrofoam holder. You must also rotate the key fobs once in a while as the car actually charges them when in the key position.

it's interesting how many people did NOT get the spare tire. I have the 16" Bridgespokes and it was included in my build.

I'm not sure if you already made this agreement with the dealer, but I would have asked for 8000 miles added to your warranty. For example, I would have asked in writing to have the warranty extended to 4 years/58000 miles. Also, I would have asked for a tire rotation, because it's not in the manual. Your car is probably 3000 miles overdue. but you can do it yourself or go to your local mechanic and have him due it for $15-20. Also, there should be a jack, tow hook and a couple of tools packed into the spare wheel well in your boot.

I have an '09 with comfort access and only two key fobs were provided - no plastic key. The Manual has multiple booklets. No spare (the S muffler occupies this space except on the Clubmans that I have seen). Jack, tow hook and screwdriver were included. No first aid kit.

A friend of mine looked at a JCW executive car (never titled) at a local dealer with 5,400 miles on it and they volunteered that the factory waranty would be extended to 55,400 miles. I agree that you should get something in writing.

Congrats and Happy Motoring!!

Interesting... you say one gets a spare (the flat thing you guys are talking about) when you get 15"s? Why does the tire size matter? odd.

My '09 Clubbie S has 16"s, no such "spare".

because anything 16" and above has runflats... so in theory you don't need a spare tire.

No no, I was talking about this spare key people are talking about, flat cardboard key or something. I wasn't talking about a spare TIRE:

"I think the spare key he is referring to is the flat plastic one to be put into your billfold and used for emergency."

My 2008 Clubman (non-S) came with:

no spare tire (17" runflats)
no first aid kit to my knowledge
2 keyfobs (comfort access)
no plastic spare key

and of course the manuals in the black cover.

Does it have the iPod interface? Get the cable. For whatever reason in 2008, even if you have the USB interface option, you still had to BUY the $100 iPod cable. How stupid is that? Needless to say I don't have it.

Picked up my car in July 08 and the cable was included in the glovebox.
