How does anybody who's remotely big fit into the sport seats??

I'm a very small guy and these sport seats feel like an extremely tight fight even for me. I just wonder how anybody with legs any bigger than mine (which would be about 90% of men out there) can be at all comfortable in them!?

And does anyone know of a specific cushion that fits onto the bottom part of the seat in between the steep, hard side parts (i.e. it doesn't ride up at all onto the side parts but creates a more even surface to sit on)?

Not sure but I'll trade you the heated Panther black leather seats in my 03' any day of the week.....mine are wide and anemic in the "holding your **** in the twisties department...."

Even my new Montanna Green VW GTi 16V came through standard with BBS RS Rims and Recaro seats....and that was 13 years ago. So for me, this is next on my short list of mods.....

Late model MINI sports seats with air bags fabricated to an 03' MCS.

Anyone have a set they want to trade ?

Yah.

The girlfriend's tall and curvy.

She's bordering on thin and she's mentioned that her hips barely fit in the sport seat.

I am 6'2" and about 260 ish pounds - and I like the "fit" of the seats. I also drive an F150 Lariat with Leather seats, I like the MINI sport seats more, they make me feel like I am not sliding around when I corner!

Wow. Well I guess it all depends on how they fit someone on an individual basis.

I might have to look into buying other seats if I can't find the right cushion to make these work.

There's a guy on the forum who covered his sport seats in memory form, and then put on the "Wet Okole" seat covers. It sounds like that addressed what you're looking for Headlands. But it would be such a shame to cover up your hot chocolate upholstery. I wonder if you could custom cut just the seat cushion, cover it with fabric, and have it attach by velcro? If you don't sew, maybe find an expert in boat upholstery - they do lots of cushions.

Or ask the folks at poochstyle to do the project - it sounds like the kind of thing they could do.

It would indeed be a shame to cover up the seats...

That sounds like a good idea, thanks, though I also could use a slightly different lumbar feel -- these seats just don't seem to jibe with my anatomy.

Some seat companies can match colors, so that's an option, too.

I have the same problem with the "wings"...I don't find the seats very comfortable.

Here's a link to a thread I started on the subject...

I'm the average average joe - 5' 9" and 165 pounds, and my sport seats in tuscan leather fit perfect.

However, the tuscan leather is becoming discolored from clothing. I might hit MINI up on this issue as it seems like after only a year, the leather should be holding up better.

I'm 6' 1", 205 pounds, and I find the wings pinch a little. I have seat covers already so could probably use the memory foam liners. Does anyone have a source?

My wife has sport seats on hers, I have the standard seats on mine (both 2009 Clubmans) and at first I couldn't stand her seats however after after a few road trips in them they seem to be breaking in and are not so uncomfortable now. I just got my MINI about a week ago and was looking forward to the standard seats with a bit more space but found those to be just as uncomfortable. After just one week they're already starting to feel a bit better.... Either I'm getting used to them or they're breaking in and molding to me. If you car is still quite new, give it a little bit to see if it improves. I'm about 6'2", 210ish.
