EDLC working?

How can I tell if my EDLC is working?

I found a patch of ice and placed one tire on the ice the other on the pavement, Then accelerated. I could tell little difference in how fast I accelerated between the DTC mode and the EDLC mode.

Things I'm aware of:
DSC is very noticeable on icy roads, noticeable cut off of engine power to keep wheels from spinning.
DTC activated by one button push and the DTC light comes on in the speedo.
Noticeable change in how much more the wheels are allowed to spin in icy conditions over the standard DSC mode.
EDLC is activated by a 3-second button push and the triangle/circle light comes on in the speedo.
There is a noticable how easy and agressive the wheels are allowed spin on ice conditions over both of the DSC and DTC modes. However, I can't tell if/when the break is being applied to the spinning wheel. Any ideas for a better test?
This is on a 2009 Clubman, and first car owned with any ABS system

I can assure you EDLC works. When I tracked my MINI last summer, I forgot to engage it for one session and I was much slower in the corners. With EDLC engaged I was fastest in my run group through the corners. I was able to feel significant difference during cornering between the two modes.
